DESCRIPTION:The Weslaco Museum is excited to announce Professor Rachael Brown will discuss D a de los Muertos for our next Saturday Lecture Series. The lecture will explore the artistic presentation of Mexican American identity\, traditions\, culture\, and legacy in the contemporary art of D a de los Muertos\, to provide a better understanding of the unique and diverse aspects of the festival.\n\n\n\nAdmission is $2.00 per person\, available at the time of the lecture.\n\n\n\nRachael Brown is an Associate Professor of Visual Arts and Music at South Texas College\, where she has been teaching since 1997. Professor Brown holds a Master's in Art History and certification in Museum Education from the University of Illinois\; Bachelor of Art in Archeology/Anthropology from Indiana University Bloomington\; a Master's in Fine Art with 2-D Concentration from the University of Texas Pan American\; and a certificate for Creative Journal Expressive Arts from El Rocio Retreat in Mission\, Texas.
