Before there were Progreso and Nuevo Progreso, there were Thayer, Texas and Rio Rico, Mexico near the Mercedes Pumps. For ten cents people could buy a ticket to cross the bridge to Rio Rico. Mexico to gamble, drink, and watch the dogs run during U. S. Prohibition Days. Learn how little Rio Rico was part of Mexico, then part of the U. S. and again part of Mexico. Presentation is free to the public.
