Full job description
The Children’s Advocacy Center of Hidalgo County (CACHSC) provides comprehensive services to child victims of abuse and their non-offending caregivers in conjunction with a multi-disciplinary team (MDT) made up of law enforcement, child protective services and prosecution.

The Mental Health Liaison will follow-up with families referred to counseling and evaluate their mental health needs and document any major changes in behavior prior to their initial intake assessment. In addition, will work with child abuse victims ages 2 – 17 and their non-offending family members by providing support services/referrals, crisis intervention, debriefing, needs and trauma specific assessments.

Minimum Requirements:

Master's Degree in Social Work

Minimum of 2 years experience working with child abuse victims and their families.

Must be fluent in English and Spanish

Licensed Master Social Work (LMSW) preferred.

Candidate must be willing to travel within CACHSC service areas in Hidalgo and Starr County.

Employment dependent upon the successful completion of a background check (criminal and DFPS)

Bending, stooping, reaching and other movement required in dealing with children. Lifting office materials (up to 20 lbs)

Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
